One
on my favorite activities this week was called “Man on the Street”
which we walk up to random people and asked them varoious questions. I
enjoyed this activity because there was alot of tourists from different
places . We could tell they were tourist because they took pictures of
everything. Some people came from China and Beligium. The locals and
tourist that we interviewed were very friendly and nice people. One of
my favorite groups of people to interview was Eyle and Dries who were
from Belgium. It was hard to understand them because of their accents
but they were really nice interesting people. I really didnt like the
fact that there were so many people but they all seem busy or
unapproachable. It was really frustrating finding someone we could talk
to. Me and my partner found really good people though.
Another
good thing about Man on the street is the questons and converations we
had. We asked about their hobbies, jobs and dreams. Some said swimming,
shopping, even walking their dogs, however, my favorite person to
interview was a woman named Jennefier Robinson who went to law school to
become a lawyer. She persued her dream to be a lawyer but quite to
dedicate her life to volunteering and she is opening up a non-profit
organization called Events with a Purpose. Her organization raises money
through events to help with animal abuse, the homeless and children in
need.
One
really fun thing about man on the street was the picture taking.
Because we were in Love Park, the fountain was a awesome backround for
pictures also the flowers and grass made it seem natural. Also, i really
enjoyed the city backround as well. Another thing is i liked the way
the light fell on peoples faces eventhough people kept posing, it was
very funny. We also noticed we were not the only ones taking pictures,
though we ran into some other students we saw that almost everyone had a
camera! We began to feel like tourist too.
